Idealistic or Achievable? Reason to Be Hopeful.

Contrary to what we might think, we have seen that peace is actually practical and possible. The cold war, apartheid, Northern Ireland, all of these conflicts once seemed like they were impossible, that they were permanent. They haven’t ended but they were transformed from violent, destructive conflict into workable negotiations. 

 

Conflict is natural. The choice isn’t eliminating conflict, it’s about transforming conflict. We have the capacity but we need the tools and the will. Watch as William Ury shares real-world learning from working on some of the most intractable conflicts around the world.
